Information
Building Envelopes in the form of structural glazing, make the most part of modern architecture now a days. They are aesthetically appealing, and energy efficient simultaneously. They provide a building with its external appearance and serve as a barrier between the interior and exterior environments.
There are several ways to create a glass wall cover to the building. The structural components which are mostly the aluminium sections and the load bearing glasses come together in a way creating a wall with a minimal joints in between them creating a neat finish.
Semi-unitized structural glazing :
The glass as a cover is bonded to a primary structural frame comprising of Aluminium extrusion sections by means of structural adhesives. The main frames installed in a way are hidden from outside exposing the glass with its joints only.
Unitized Curtainwall :
Its composed of large units of glass or composite units that are pre-assembled in a factory before carried to the site for installation. There are pre requisites fixing arrangements made with RCC structure and the units are directly installed to cover the whole floor with various grids.
Curtainwall Glazing :
The glass is directly placed between the sections of aluminium and is held with pressure plates with a prior application of rubber gaskets. The plates are exposed to the outside with a fashionable cover to be visible from outside.
